Mount Prospect man charged with forgery
A Mount Prospect man posted bond and was released Saturday after being charged with taking a checkbook and cashing $1,200 worth of checks he wrote in his own name.
A $25,000 bond was set for Jose R. Ibarra, 27, of Mount Prospect, who appeared in Cook County Circuit Court on the Class 3 felony charges.
On Feb. 8, an Arlington Heights man reported that his checkbook was stolen from his car. Arlington Heights police investigated the case and arrested Ibarra. Ibarra allegedly wrote one check for $200 and two others for $500 each all payable to himself, said Assistant State's Attorney James Pontrelli.
