Let's put village money to better use

Joan Gall's letter in the Feb. 2, 2009 Daily Herald regarding Mount Prospect's $27,000 expenditure for village signs publicizing, "We are the #1 best place to raise children" really got my attention.

Such an expenditure for signs is really unnecessary and hardly appropriate in today's financial hardships. I, too, object to such wasteful expense by the village.
