Have a little respect for park's neighbors
Our town needs respect.
With spring right around the corner we have many things to look forward to, with the spring flowers peeking from the thawed ground and the birds chirping, signaling the start of a new season.
Many are looking forward to this time of year, yes this is spring. Unless you are subject to the near-astronomical noise levels coming from a park within proximity of your back yard.
Our park currently has 1,600-plus occupants descending on the area on the average day each weekend. With each event residents are now seeking shelter indoors, windows and doors closed to block the decibels penetrating the walls.
Our park district, along with many others throughout this USA, have ignored the respect of each neighborhood and the requests to curb the volume that is generated with each event.
Our town, along with many other towns, has given the finger to each request of quiet, stating they have the right to be in the park.
What it really comes down to is the dollars generated by each sporting enthusiast- the enthusiast who has no qualms about the noise levels that are produced at each event by every spectator and participant.
So if you live by such an event run quickly! Be it short lived, enjoy your spring.
Those of you attending the event think long and hard about all the residents you have descended upon the next time you're relaxing in your backyard with birds chirping and the quiet stirring of the wind.
Think of one word: R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
