If Ditka ran, who'd be president now?

It seems that everyone has overlooked the fact that if Mike Ditka, would have run against Barack Obama for U.S. Senator as a lot of people wanted him to way back when, he probably would have been elected as the U.S. Senator from Illinois. Barack Obama would now probably be an unknown. I wonder if our president even invited "Da Coach" to the inauguration? Who knows, if Ditka would have been elected as the Senator from Illinois, maybe today we would be calling him President Ditka.
