County should protect Brandywine

The city of Oakbrook Terrace's outlined objections to the proposed Krilich property development include worries about too much traffic onto Butterfield Road.

Oakbrook Terrace's idea of a solution is to create two new road extensions that would essentially dump such traffic into the Brandywine residential neighborhood, a community that already struggles with parking and congestion issues of its own.

The DuPage County Board members should protect their 4,500 Brandywine constituents and not allow the Oakbrook Terrace leaders to impose their will upon a quiet, unincorporated community that exists outside of the Oakbrook Terrace city limits.

Mr. Krilich's submitted plan does not include road hook-ups through Brandywine, and that part of his plan should remain unchanged.
