Car catches fire on expressway

Roselle firefighters extinguished a car fire on the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway Wednesday evening.

The fire department responded to the eastbound lanes of the Elgin-O'Hare around 5:45 p.m. for the car that was on fire just west of Roselle Road. The driver was out of the car by the time firefighters arrived, and no injuries were reported.

One lane of the eastbound expressway was shut down while firefighters were working.
