FBI offering $10,000 reward for info on cross-dressing bandit
The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward to help catch a bank robber who put as much thought into his outfit as he did his getaway plan.
A 5-foot-10-inch man dressed in a black and pink floral print dress robbed the MB Financial Bank at 1014 Busse Highway in Park Ridge on Aug. 13, according to an FBI media release.
Besides the dress, the man also donned a pink, wide-brimmed sun hat, long white cloth gloves and white sandals. Along with a handgun, he carried an oversize black purse.
When the robber entered the bank about 6:50 p.m., he loudly announced the robbery and demanded money from the vault. A bank employee then placed an unspecified amount of cash into a plastic shopping bag the robber had brought with him.
Before he left, the robber forced two bank employees and a customer into a bathroom and tied their hands behind their backs using plastic zip-ties. Witnesses report that the robber's demeanor was calm and methodical during the entire ordeal, according to the FBI.
The robber is described as a black man, about 18 to 20 years old. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.
The FBI is offering the reward for the man they term the "cross-dressing bandit." Anyone with information should call the Chicago FBI office at (312) 421-6700.
