Worker severely injured after fall from roof in Crystal Lake

A Norridge man was flown by Flight for Life helicopter to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge Monday after falling 15 to 20 feet while working on the roof of a Crystal Lake home.

Dorota Dzieszuta, 36, later was listed in good condition while undergoing treatment for his injuries, a hospital spokeswoman said.

McHenry County sheriff's Sgt. Steve Schmidt said the fall occurred about 11:30 a.m. when the man, a roofing contractor, was working atop a home in the 7000 block of Foxfire Drive. He appeared to suffer chest trauma as a result of the fall.

"It looks just to be an accident, nothing suspicious," Schmidt said.

Rescue workers Crystal Lake Fire Department transported Dzieszuta to a nearby lumber yard, where he was picked up by Flight for Life and flown to the hospital.
