Quenneville: Sharp will miss 2-3 weeks

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville said after practice Monday that leading goal scorer Patrick Sharp would be sidelined for at least several weeks with what it believed to be a left knee injury.

"He'll be out at least a couple three weeks," Quenneville said.

Normally a knee sprain is a 4-6 week injury, although the Hawks haven't disclosed the results of the MRI on Sharp, and likely won't.

Sharp was hurt early in Saturday's 6-2 win over Dallas on a hit from Steve Ott.

Quenneville also said Nikolai Khabibulin wouldn't be going on the three-game road trip to Tampa Bay, Florida and Dallas because of his lower body injury.

Khabibulin tried to practice Monday but couldn't make it through. Quenneville said Khabibulin might have aggravated the problem.
