Woodridge eatery to hire 100 employees
The Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, opening its first area location in Woodridge early next month, is holding a "casting call," or hiring event Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 and 15, to hire more than 100 employees.
The open casting call will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Bobak's Signature Events, 6440 Double Eagle Drive, Woodridge. The restaurant is located nearby at 6320 Route 53 in Woodridge. Tilted Kilt is known for its Celtic theme and kilt-clad servers - men in traditional kilts and women in mini-kilts made of the Tilted Kilt's own registered tartan plaid, a starched camp shirt, sporran, stockings and flashings. The company is looking for servers, hostesses, food runners, bartenders, barbacks, security, bussers and kitchen staff.
At Tilted Kilt, the entire experience follows the theme of a theatrical production. When a new restaurant is hiring, the "directors" (store managers) hold a "casting call" where servers audition to be part of the "show." They are trained to be the "star" and the act starts the minute a customer walks through the door.
Currently with 16 open units and many more in development, the original restaurant concept was developed in the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas in 2003.
