Denmark company to acquire Ovation

DEERFIELD - Lundbeck, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, announced plans to acquire Deerfield-based Ovation Pharmaceuticals Inc. for up to $900 million. The deal is expected to take place in March when Ovation will become a full-integrated subsidiary of Lundbeck. Ovation, founded in 2000, is a specialty pharmaceutical company focusing on central nervous system disorders. The company has a broad portfolio of medicines, both approved and in development. The company employs 283 employees, which includes a specialized sales force of 68 employees and a management team the will stay with the company following the transaction.
