Farewell and thank you, Rep. Krause
The national media is characterizing Illinois as a state full of corrupt politicians.
Yet Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights have been represented by Rep. Carolyn Krause, whose honesty and ethical standards are an inspiration to her many loyal constituents.
Rep. Krause is retiring after 16 years in the Illinois House of Representatives. Before that, she served as mayor of Mt. Prospect.
Rep. Krause is a petite lady, who was a formidable force for the causes that she championed. She was strong supporter of public education and was always available to meet with parents and the PTA.
Rep. Krause was most devoted to the powerless. She was always advocating for additional funds for agencies that serve the disabled, such as Clearbrook. Her enthusiasm and charisma motivated people to continue to work for services desperately needed by disabled people.
Rep. Krause has been an inspiration to me and thousands of her constituents over the past 16 years. I want to thank her for her service to our community, and wish her and her husband, David, all the best in their retirement.
