C.S. Lewis expert to speak in St. Charles
Hosanna! Lutheran Church is inviting the community to hear a renowned C.S. Lewis expert at its winter retreat from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21.
Jerry Root of Wheaton College will explore the message and meaning of "The Screwtape Letters," by C.S. Lewis in his presentation "A Window to Your Soul." The church is at Red Gate and Randall roads in St. Charles.
"We feel so blessed to have Dr. Root again," said parishioner Jan Sternberg of Batavia. She and her husband Richard are on the planning committee.
"We've heard him before and he's phenomenal. You don't have to have read any of C.S. Lewis to come away with an understanding of him.
"He wants us to learn about C.S. Lewis, but more important, he wants us to have a closer relationship with Christ," she added.
Sternberg said all are welcome to attend.
"It's not just for Lutherans," she said.
Cost is $15 and the retreat includes coffee and rolls in the morning and lunch.
Dress is casual.

The audience will be invited to participate in a short discussion following the film. Refreshments will be provided. There is no cost.
