St. Patrick talent show
St. Patrick Catholic School will present a talent show at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Arcada Theater, 105 E. Main St. in St. Charles. Acts will include singing, dancing, music, comedy and a magician. Guest David Kovac will perform a comedy magic act at intermission. Call (630) 587-8400.
Cheerleading clinic
The St. Charles North High School cheerleaders will host a clinic from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the gymnasium, Red Gate Road and Route 31. A performance from 2:30 to 3 p.m. follows. Students in kindergarten through eighth grade are welcome. The fee is $30. Proceeds support the cheerleading team. Advance registration is preferred, but registration will be accepted at the door. Chili cook-off scheduled
The Association for Individual Development is having a chili cook-off at 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Maple Park Pub in Maple Park. The top three winners from each contests (others were held in Burlington and South Elgin in January) will face off during AID's 10th annual telethon on Feb. 28 and have the chance to win a $500 cash first prize. Fair set for homeowners
The DuPage Homeownership Center and the DuPage County Community Services Department are sponsoring a Free Home Buyers Fair Feb. 28 to help first-time buyers avoid pitfalls that have plagued so many current first-time homeowners. St. Charles police academy
The St. Charles Police Department's Citizen Police Academy will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday beginning March 3. Graduation will be in April. Applications are available are at the police department, by calling (630) 377-4435 or online at stcharlesil.gov/departments/police/ and are subject to approval.
