Bad time for open space referendum

The economy is in a depression, maybe another Great Depression. Unemployment is going up and continuing to rise. The federal deficit is at an all-time high, and state and local governments are having problems balancing their budgets. The world economy is also in significant trouble.

The average 401(k) is about 50 percent of what it was last year, and this affects rich and poor alike.

This is, of course, wonderful news for Nunda Township taxpayers, homeowners and renters alike. It means that it is a great time for a $15 million tax increase referendum for open space. So many properties are in and will be in foreclosure, it's time for bargain basement hunting.

Vote no on April 7 for the tax increase. The residence that you save may be your own.
