Suspects sought in pair of Wheaton armed robberies

Wheaton police are seeking suspects in two armed robberies.

The first occurred at 10 a.m. Monday when a man entered the 7-Eleven store at 1730 E. Roosevelt Road and demanded money from the clerk. Police said the suspect inferred he had a gun. The man fled after the clerk gave him about $200, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a black man between 25 and 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and 165 to 175 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he had a full mustache and was wearing a white ball cap, light blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and white shoes.

Wheaton's second armed robbery happened about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a Shell gas station. Two suspects entered the station at 100 W. Geneva Road, and one pulled out a handgun, demanding money from the clerk. Police said the clerk complied, and the men fled on foot.

The first suspect is described as a black man between 20 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood and black jeans.

The second suspect is described a black man between 20 to 25 old, standing 5 feet 9 inches and weighing between 140 to 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket, blue ski cap and black jeans.

No one was injured in either robbery, authorities said.
