Feb. 6 hearing set for proposed long-term care facility in Geneva
The Illinois Department of Public Health will conduct a public hearing on an application by Meadowbrook Manor to build a $25.3 million skilled care facility in Geneva.
The hearing will take place at 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at the Geneva City Council chambers, 22 S. First St.
Meadowbrook Manor is a family-owned company which has facilities in Bolingbrook, LaGrange and Naperville. The company has proposed a 150-bed, skilled long-term care facility on Keslinger Road near Delnor-Community Hospital. Meadowbrook Manor offers in-house dialysis and rehabilitation programs at its current locations. The facility would be built by MMG Partners and Butterfield Health Care III.
The public can comment on the project at the meeting or via written statement. The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board must determine if the facility would meet the needs of the community, or if it would conflict with others offering the same services.
A determination will likely be made at a state board meeting set for April 21 and 22.
