Two more arrests in Elburn teen's death
The last two suspects accused of dumping an Elburn teen's body in a Chicago alley more than a year ago have been taken into custody, officials said Friday.
Kane County Sheriff's deputies arrested Nathan L. Green, 22, of Maple Park, late Thursday in Chicago, and Lindsey L. Parker, 23, of St. Charles surrendered to St. Charles police Friday, according to the Kane County state's attorney's office. The third suspect, Jordan D. Billek, 18, of Maple Park, surrendered Wednesday.
All three are accused of dumping the body of 17-year-old Michael York of Elburn on the 4900 block of Lexington Street in Chicago in December 2007.
Police have been told York attended a three-day party at Parker's house on the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive, where Green and Billek helped him shoot up heroin, court filings show. After York appeared to overdose, they drove his body to Chicago and dumped it to avoid prosecution, according to the charges.
Kane County State's Attorney John Barsanti said charges of drug-induced homicide were considered but there wasn't proof York died as a direct result of drugs given him. While authorities suspected a drug overdose, his cause of death was undetermined.
"We feel the charges the grand jury returned (earlier this month) were correct," Barsanti said.
Billek and Parker were released on $2,000 and $500 bonds, respectively. Green, also charged with heroin delivery, was in the county jail Friday with bail set at $100,000.
Green and Parker are due in court Jan. 30. Billek is scheduled to appear Feb. 10.
