Glendale Heights Police search for home invasion suspects

Glendale Heights police have arrested one of two men who authorities say entered a home Thursday afternoon and then fled when they saw the residents.

Briam L. Fleming, 28, of the 500 block of Thornhill Drive in Carol Stream, was charged Thursday evening with one count of felony criminal trespass to residence, police said Friday.

Police still are searching for a second man seen around 1:55 p.m. inside a home on the 500 block of Winthrop Avenue. He is described as a 28-year-old black man weighing about 200 pounds and standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall.

He had a goatee and was wearing a black stocking cap, black jeans, black Carhartt jacket and was armed with a black handgun, police said.

When the men entered the home and saw the residents, they fled in an unknown direction.

After his arrest, Fleming was taken to DuPage County jail to await a bond hearing.

The victims were not harmed, police said.

Anyone with information on the second suspect is asked to call Glendale Heights police at (630) 260-6070.
