Armed robber strikes Schaumburg liquor store
Schaumburg police are searching for a man who held up a liquor store with a handgun Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 5:20 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of South Roselle Road, Schaumburg police Sgt. John Nebl said.
The offender reportedly displayed a handgun and demanded money from the cashier. He then left with a couple hundred dollars and a few bottles of alcohol, Nebl said.
The offender is described as a black male in his mid 20s, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He wore a gold and white hoodie, black gloves and a black ski mask.
While police have not ruled out the possibility of this being the same robber that struck a number of convenience stores and gas stations last fall, those incidents were marked by strong similarities while this one bore several significant differences, Nebl said.
Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call Schaumburg police at (847) 882-3534 and ask for investigations.
