Touhy Ave. at I-90 like bomb craters
I would like to thank the Daily Herald for reporting recently on the severe pothole conditions on Touhy Avenue in Des Plaines under I-90. ("IDOT working on Touhy Avenue pothole woes in Des Plaines," Jan. 13).
I, along with many others, have contacted IDOT many times and their response has been generally slow and inadequate.
I realize there are a lot of potholes this season. However, that stretch of road is like a bombed-out Iraqi runway. I even had to call 911 recently to complain as I have witnessed two accidents from people barreling down the road only to suddenly have to slam on the brakes and or swerve into the other lane.
I would appreciate the Daily Herald monitoring this particular concern.
Thank you for all the good work done at your paper.
