GOP was responsible for plenty of problems

Isn't it amazing that in his recent letter, Mr. Strzelecki can recite a litany of crimes perpetrated against the public trust by various Democrats, but he can't remember even one by a Republican?

Like the selling of the country to the oil and gas industries by Bush/Cheney; the selling of the House of Representatives by Tom DeLay and his associates (and after finally being kicked out of the House, guess who played a prominent role at the Republican convention).

And how can he conveniently forget the Iraq war and our illustrious contractor Blackwater and the billions upon billions they have cost us, compliments of Bush/Cheney; and lest we forget, Halliburton is still raking in the money over there with their no-bid contract.

So let's be fair, Mr. Strzelecki.

If you're going to point out all the malfeasance of the Democrats, at least look in the mirror, and remember, from 2002 through 2006, the Republicans had complete control in Washington.

If they should not take full responsibility for the calamity we are presently experiencing, they should bear at least 75 percent of it, even if for no other reason than not watching the store. They were as inept about that as they were about everything else except graft.
