Streamwood man's bond set in assault case

A Streamwood man appeared in Cook County court on Saturday after being charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault to a juvenile.

Prosecutors said that Antonio Lopez, 39, of the 1700 block of Nippert Drive, was arrested Friday on charges that he assaulted a 13-year-old girl in December 2007 in Arlington Heights.

The arrest was made after investigators were able to secure DNA evidence against Lopez, prosecutors said.

Lopez has no prior criminal record. The judge set bond at $40,000 and scheduled Lopez's next court date for 9 a.m. Feb. 11 in Room 108 at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
