Don't worry about 'liberal media'

With the recent Fence Post letters from our right friends, Mr. Palash, Mr. Toye and Mr. Kocan, we can all now expect since we elected Barack Obama, the worst is to come.

Mr. Palash would have us believe that words from those Mr. Obama has known over the years are a forecaster of gloom and doom in his decision making. Mr. Toye would have us believe that words from Mrs. Obama, which have been twisted by anyone who listens to Fox News, are another forecaster of gloom and doom for Mr. Obama and the rest us citizens. While I will give Mr. Toye his due on our governor, I believe he missed the way Mr. Obama kept himself from Blagojevich, knowing how toxic he was.

Now we have Mr. Kocan going off on Arne Duncan and his gripe is with trying to teach African-Americans what their heritage is? And ACORN, which has done nothing but try to educate on our electoral process? Yes, the big city has problems with trying to educate kids. But what city doesn't?

Have these three not read some of the articles printed in this very newspaper? Have they possibly not taken the time to read the bad news here? We are supposed to be worried about words? The so-called liberal media? Arne Duncan and James Meeks? Let me clue you in. Last month 700,000 jobs were lost in this country. Our financial markets have tumbled like a rock. Some people have lost their life savings. We are in two wars without end and hundreds and thousands are dying. We now have seen our U.S. deficit grow from $5 trillion before Bush to more than $11 trillion. And you, sirs, want to worry about words and the liberal media? That certainly is something to fear.
