Cops shut down treacherous Elgn-O'Hare

State police shut down the inbound Elgin-O'Hare Expressway for about an hour this morning near Wright Boulevard in the Schaumburg area due to dangerous ice on the roadway.

Officials said at least five cars were involved in an accident between the Gary Avenue on-ramp and Wright. Officials said, while no one was injured in the multi-car accident - and other spinouts in the area - but that the roadway was just too slick and dangerous for motorists, police say.

The road was re-opened around 8 a.m.
