Bailout foes should vote with dollars

Now that the price of gas is down, why don't we just let the Big Three make more Hummers and SUVs?

The American public is dumb enough to gobble them up. Nobody believed the Jimmy Carters and Al Gores of the world so what's to worry?

No need for bailouts and the crisis is averted until the price of gas goes up in the spring. Then the general population that finds it too boring to follow and investigate energy issues, climate change and voodoo economics can all start wringing their hands and whining as to why "they weren't asked" all over again.

The fact is they've been asked everyday in the way they use their dollars to influence the markets, and they've surrendered their right by default. Save the jobs, bail 'em out, prosecute the offenders. The guys on the line don't decide what cars are built.
