District 103 plans committee of whole meetings
Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103 has approved separate committee of the whole meetings in order to have opportunity for in-depth discussion on agenda items and to increase transparency of the decision-making process with the community. Meetings this year will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 3, March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 2 in the Learning Center of Daniel Wright Junior High School, 1370 Riverwoods Road, Lincolnshire. These meetings will be open, offering an opportunity for citizens to attend as observers or to address the board.
YWCA offers scholarship to high school girls
The YWCA Lake County is seeking applications for the Dr. Minnie P. Leggette Young Woman of Achievement Scholarship. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at the 31st annual YWCA Women of Achievement awards benefit May 8. The scholarship is awarded to a high school senior girl who lives and attends school in Lake County and is college bound. Applications are due by Feb. 13. The decision will be announced in March. Group to talk land buys
The Lake County Forest Preserve District's land preservation and acquisition committee will meet today to review the district's additions over the last decade and to discuss future plans. The meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the district's main office, 2000 N. Milwaukee Ave., Libertyville.
