Duncan new post typifies past failures

President-elect Barack Obama has appointed Arne Duncan as secretary of education. Duncan served for seven years as the superintendent of the Chicago Public Schools.

In terms of academics, Duncan's tenure continued the Chicago tradition of failure. Chicago schools have produced failures for generations.

The Rev. James Meeks, who also serves as a state senator, went through a lot of trouble this fall to demonstrate that very point.

The schools will continue to fail. They will fail because Democrats run things in Chicago. The Democrats have everything their way in Chicago - everything.

The mayor is a Democrat, and he appointed Arne Duncan as superintendent. The Chicago Teachers Union, as are other unions, is a branch of the Democrat Party. Obama is a Democrat.

Obama served as CEO of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, thus hinting at his philosophy of education. He funneled $100 million into the Chicago school system.

The curriculum, rather than stressing math, science and language skills, emphasized "Afro-centrism" and radical politics. ACORN, a political organization notorious for election fraud and the promotion of Democrat candidates like Obama, acted as an "external partner."

The Democrat-run Chicago school system has produced students who consistently earn below-average ACT scores, while spending above average amounts of money per each pupil.

The Chicago school system reliably produces an army of unemployed, underemployed, idle and angry adults who will vote Democrat until the day they die.

The Democratic Party has a vested interest in ignorance and stupidity.

In the past election, a CNN exit poll showed this most clearly. Of those voters who did not finish grade school, 63 percent voted for Obama.

The choice of Duncan does not represent a "change we can believe in."

Rather, it represents another "failed policy of the past."
