Time to wake up, American voters
For this unrepentant advocate of the proven nutritional value of some luncheon meats, it's time for yet another spine-tingling excursion into what some vociferous critics refer to as "baloney."
Measurable snowfall in New Orleans, Houston and Las Vegas fails to awaken the slumbering masses, still consuming the global warming Kool-Aid as Al Gore laughs out loud on his way to the bank. Emboldened solely by the mystic aura of an iconic political family dynasty, Caroline Kennedy pursues a powerful U.S. Senate seat while an unapologetically biased media repeatedly slams Governor Sarah Palin for her "lack of experience."
Corrupt, unprincipled, openly disingenuous politicians thumb their collective noses at a complacent, woefully uniformed and willingly disconnected electorate, inexplicably convinced that their vote truly means nothing.
We consistently re-elect these arrogant, elitist clowns and then complain about malfeasance in leadership, a contagion of graft and the total absence of integrity permeating all levels of government.
Without the focused, resolute engagement of a well-informed citizenry, our elected officials will simply continue to dupe, defraud and disgust us while seriously eroding the precious fabric that made America the envy of freedom-loving people everywhere.
This of course depends upon what your definition of "is" is.
