Park district backs option:

Naperville Park District staff is backing a plan that would move some of its garden plots to the south side of the city to make way for additional athletic fields near Naperville Central High School. The proposal, known as Option 1A, would keep 478 of 590 plots at the West Street site and create 332 plots at DuPage River Park. The plan would cost the park district $250,000 and Naperville Unit District 203 about $500,000. The park board will vote on the proposal when it meets at 7 p.m. Jan. 8 at the municipal center, 400 S. Eagle St.
