Pardon request could wait for Obama

Dick Durbin's sudden compassion for George Ryan is a joke. Why is he asking Mr. Bush to commute his sentence now? Why not wait and he can ask Barack Obama who is a good friend of Durbin's to commute the sentence. Durbin does not want Obama to be the bad guy, that is the only reason. Durbin is anything but a friend of Mr. Bush after bashing Bush for years.

It is very evident that the vast majority of people do not want Ryan to get out of jail early.

There are many people currently in jail who never took an oath that they would not steal, rob or commit a crime, should we let them out of jail because someone they loved is ill.

George Ryan did take an oath on a bible that he would uphold the law. Let George serve out his time which is not in Menard or Leavenworth, but in Terre Haute, Ind., which is not exactly Devil's Island or Guantanamo Bay.
