Settlement wins awards:

Naperville's Naper Settlement museum recently won three MarCom Awards that recognize outstanding achievements in marketing and communications. The 19th-century living-history museum received the highest honor, a Platinum Award, for its marketing publication "Tidbits of the Past: A fun collection of Historic Brainteasers." It also won a Gold Award for its annual report and an honorable mention for Treasures Magazine, an in-house publication sent to members and volunteers. There were more than 5,000 entries worldwide.

Lisle chamber names board:

The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2009 board of directors. World Peace Day service:

A World Peace Day Inter-Faith Prayer Service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 1 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 25 E. Benton St., Naperville. Based on the theme "Working Together: Hoping for a Peace-filled Future," it is being planned by a coalition of Christian, Buddhist, Jewish, Baha'i, Muslim and Unitarian Universalists.
