Bears wary of Texans' Williams

Bears offensive left tackle John St. Clair has generally been solid this season, but he has also struggled against top-flight pass rushers at times - including the Vikings' Jared Allen, who had 4 sacks in two games against the Bears.

St. Clair faces another daunting task Sunday when he faces Houston's 6-foot-6, 283-pound defensive right end Mario Williams, who leads the Texans with 11 sacks.

"He's very special, but it's the same thing for me every week with a lot of these tough guys," St. Clair said. "I kind of compare him to (the Panthers') Julius Peppers or somebody like that. He's a tall, fast guy off the edge, so it'll be a tough challenge."

Bears quarterback Kyle Orton said he has to be aware of the presence of a player like Williams, who had 14 sacks last season.

"No question that you take him into consideration," Orton said. "I obviously know when the left tackle's man-to-man on him, and I might have to quicken up my thoughts just a little bit. But whether it's handled through protection or the concept, we should be able to neutralize him hopefully a little bit."

Bears 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end Adewale Ogunleye said he noticed right away that the Texans' defensive end was a different player than himself.

"I met him one time in Houston," Ogunleye said. "I was just like, 'I'm a defensive end and he's a defensive end,' but it looked a little weird because he's extremely big and strong. He's young, so his best is yet to come. He's got all the talent."

The waiting game: Adewale Ogunleye's most vivid Christmas memories are of his parents' generosity but also of agonizing waits.

"Every time I think about Christmas, I think about my mom and my dad, and I know that they were in a room wrapping gifts all night for us," said Ogunleye, whose parents emigrated from Kenya to New York City before he was born. "But then (it was) having to wait for my dad to get up before we could open our gifts. That was just the worst, but it's a memory that I love.

"I remember getting up, but my dad would just take his time, and I was like, 'Dad, come on, we can't open the gifts.' But he's still sleeping and then, as soon as he woke up, man, we tore into those gifts. It was fun times."

Injury report: Cornerbacks Charles Tillman (ankle) and Marcus Hamilton (ankle), safety Mike Brown (calf), linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer (ankle) and running back Kevin Jones (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday.

Tillman is expected to play Sunday, but the others are probably questionable at best, especially Brown.

FB Jason McKie (quad) was limited at practice and could return after missing four games.
