Danada sleigh rides
Horse-drawn sleigh rides will be available from noon to 2 p.m. Friday through Dec. 31 at Danada Equestrian Center, 3S507 Naperville Road, Wheaton. Clerk's holiday hours
The Kane County Clerk's Office of Vital Records is altering its hours for the Christmas and New Year's. The office will be closed Thursday and Friday. Next week the office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and closed Jan. 1. Call (630) 232-5950.

Trade food for tickets
The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is a drop-off spot for the city of Elgin's food drive and the ESO is offering one free ticket for every 10 items dropped off at the box office, 20 DuPage Court. The office is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets can be redeemed for any concert through June 2009 at the Hemmens Cultural Center. Most needed items are: cans of fruit, vegetables, beans, ravioli, spaghetti, chili, tuna, white rice, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, oatmeal and powdered milk. ECC closed for winter break
Elgin Community College has closed its facilities on the main and Fountain Square campuses for the winter recess. Offices reopen at 8 a.m. Jan. 5.
