Man accused of putting camera in Buffalo Grove bathroom
Authorities have arrested a man they say put a video camera in the women's bathroom of a Buffalo Grove business.
David F. Kretz, 36, of the 1700 block of Rusty Drive, Mount Prospect, was arrested and charged on Friday with unauthorized video recording, police said. The charge is a misdemeanor.
Buffalo Grove Cmdr. Steve Husak said Kretz was in the building doing some alarm work and was recognized by the person who found the camera.
"There was a partial image on the camera (of Kretz)," Husak said.
Kretz admitted to placing the camera in the bathroom to record the women using the facilities, Husak said.
However, no other footage was found on the camera besides that of Kretz.
Last Wednesday, a woman found the camera under some paper towels at the business on the 1300 block of Barclay Boulevard.
Kretz was released on a personal recognizance bond and has a Jan. 6 court date in Waukegan.
