Huet makes 30 saves, Blackhawks win 7th straight

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Cristobal Huet made 30 saves, and the Chicago Blackhawks extended their winning streak to seven games with a 3-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday night.

It is the Blackhawks' longest spurt since an eight-game run from Jan. 4-21, 1981. Chicago had seven six-game winning streaks since then.

Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, and Jonathan Toews scored for the Blackhawks. Daniel Sedin notched Vancouver's lone goal.

Vancouver took the early lead when Henrik Sedin's backhand pass to the front of the net went off the skate of linemate Jannik Hansen and wound up on the stick of Daniel Sedin at the side of the Blackhawks net. Huet couldn't get across the crease in time, leaving Daniel Sedin an empty net for his 15th goal.

Huet (8-5-3) has allowed three goals in winning his last four starts.

Chicago rallied with two goals in the second period. Kane tied it three minutes in with a backhander over the left shoulder of goalie Curtis Sanford. Kane's 17th of the season was his fifth point and third goal in three games.

Chicago took the lead four minutes later, capitalizing on a turnover in the Canucks end. Sharp wound up with the puck in the high slot and put a wrist shot over Sanford's right shoulder for his 18th goal.

Toews added an empty-net goal to seal the win for Chicago, which ended a 0-1-10 road skid against the Canucks.

Sanford (5-5) made 31 saves.
