Bartlett
• Vandals slashed four inflated decorations outside a home on Beacon Lane Dec. 14; damage was estimated at $500. Vandals cut an inflated decoration at another Beacon Lane home during the same time; damage there was estimated at $50.
• Riley P. Quinn, 17, of the 600 block of Bluff Street, Carol Stream, was arrested around 2:45 a.m. Dec. 14 at Route 59 and Schick Road and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. His court date is Jan. 20.
• The driver of an unidentified vehicle fired three shots around 5:25 p.m. Dec. 13 in the direction of a resident on North Tatge Avenue. The victim saw the offender drive slowly past his home several times; the shooter fired when the man stepped outside.
• Vandals slashed five tires on two vehicles at a home on North Tatge Avenue around 8 a.m. Dec. 13. Damage was estimated at $900.
• Todd Short, 29, of the 1300 block of Branden Lane, Bartlett, was arrested around 11 p.m. Dec. 12 at Devon Avenue and Wilmington Drive and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence and speeding. His court date is Jan. 29.
• Vandals spray painted graffiti on two exterior walls at Walgreens, 891 S. Route 59, the rear wall at Home Depot, 950 S. Route 59, and the east wall at Parade of Homes Real Estate, 848 W. Bartlett Road, overnight Dec. 11-12. Total damage was estimated at $600.
• A $2,500 laptop computer was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle on Prairie Avenue between 5-7:45 p.m. Dec. 11.
Hanover Park
• Vandals wrote gang graffiti Dec. 13 on Laurel Hill School, 1754 Laurel Ave. A damage estimate was not available.
• Robert A. Kling, 40, on the 900 block of La Jolla Terrace, Bartlett, was arrested Dec. 12 and charged with retail theft from a store at 7435 Barrington Road. A court date was not available.
• Someone forced open a patio door at a home on the 2300 block of Harbor around 4 p.m. Dec. 12 and stole an undetermined amount of jewelry.
• Appliances worth $2,075 were stolen out of a rented home on the 1300 block of Court Leona around 11 a.m. Dec. 10.
Streamwood
• Charles T. Talley, 22, of the 900 block of Hillcrest, DeKalb, was arrested around 12:40 a.m. Dec. 13 at a home on the 1300 block Laurel Oaks Drive and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and criminal damage to property. Police say he chased several men and women out of the home during a party and used a knife to break a side window on a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, scratching the car as the occupants tried to flee (and hit a mailbox). Talley is also accused of breaking a window on a 2007 Honda Civic and trying to cut the driver with his knife; the driver moved into the passenger's seat on top of his girlfriend to avoid being cut, and drove the car from the passenger's seat in order to get away from Talley, police said. Talley's court date is Jan. 26.
• A radar detector, cell phone and loose change were stolen out of an unlocked Dodge Intrepid and unlocked Dodge Caravan at a home on the 500 block of Lacy Avenue overnight Dec. 13-14. A loss estimate was not available.
