Man pleads guilty in drug case
A Fox River Grove man was sentenced to 170 days in the McHenry County jail, but avoided a far longer stay behind bars, after pleading guilty Thursday to allegations stemming from a narcotics raid on his home earlier this year.
Rodolfo Landeros, 42, of the 300 block of Circle, also must pay $13,395 in fines and court costs and serve two years probation as part of a plea bargain in which he admitted guilt to unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
In exchange for the guilty plea, county prosecutors dismissed three other felony drug charges, including one punishable by a mandatory six to 30 years in state prison.
Landeros was arrested June 12 after a monthlong investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff's Department led deputies to execute a search warrant on his home. During the raid, sheriff's police said, deputies found 88.2 grams of cocaine and 67 grams of marijuana, together valued at $9,691.
