Libertyville HS principal to be honored

Libertyville High School Co-Principal Jim Whittington will be honored by his alma mater when he's inducted into the Wheeling High School athletic hall of fame, Libertyville-Vernon Hills Area High School District 128 officials announced Tuesday. Whittington, who played football and baseball at Wheeling High, later returned to the school as a teacher, coach and administrator. His educational career brought him to schools including Vernon Hills High, where he was the first principal, and most recently Libertyville High. He'll be honored Jan. 17 at a Wheeling High basketball game.
