Marklund benefit raises $21,000
More than 130 guests shopped, bid on auctions, and dined at the 2008 Marklund dinner auction held Friday, Nov. 14, at Pipers Banquets in Aurora. The fun evening was a stunning success, raising more than $21,000 to care for the individuals served by Marklund - infants, children and adults with severe developmental disabilities.
"We were so excited for everyone to come out to Pipers to support Marklund and to enjoy a fun night that helped guests get ahead on their holiday shopping," said Stevie Armbruster, development coordinator at Marklund.
Marklund is grateful to the dinner auction committee whose members are Lola Badmus of Algonquin, Gino Barrto of Geneva, Mary Burchi of Hanover Park, Caroline DiFiglio of St. Charles, Sandy Dixon of Geneva, Jean Jordan of Addison, and Peggy Szarzynski of Carol Stream.
In addition, generous sponsors made the event possible: ATMI Precast, Imperial Construction, Konica Minolta Business Solutions, McCullough, Rossi & Co., Meridian Design Build, Olsson Roofing, Optimum Safety Management, and Waubonsee Development.
