Meadows keeps the Kemph-asis on winning

On the heels of his 41-point game against Wheeling two nights earlier, junior guard Richie Kemph poured home 29 points (including five 3-pointers) for Rolling Meadows in a 66-53 victory over visiting Barrington in Saturday's Mid-Suburban League boys basketball crossover contest.

"Richie (6 rebounds, 4 assists) did a little bit of everything," said Mustangs coach Kevin Katovich. "He had a heck of a week. And (senior guard) Danny Wenzel (12 points) hit a couple of big shots for us when we needed them."

Senior forward Ted Metzger added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists while teammate Jimmy Garoppolo also added 8 points and 4 assists for the Mustangs, who improved to 5-2.

"Ted did a little big of everything," Katovich added. "He's like the glue to our team. We just had a real nice team effort."

Senior Mack Darrow led Barrington (1-8) with 20 points followed by Ryan McAndrews (12) and Byrant Sullivan (8).

"I thought Ted Metzger had a good defensive game guarding Darrow and giving up about 4 inches," Katovich added.
