Bliss' appeal reaches another demographic

While I am certain the Daily Herald will receive critical letters commenting on the recent article regarding the new Chicago Bliss team of the so-called Lingerie Football League, I want to add mine to the discussion. Please do not consider me to be mired in "political correctness." But I must say that I am highly offended by what this represents.

Sure, this team and league are a marketing ploy targeting the 25 to 35 year old male demographic. And when these young men attend the Bliss games everyone will dismiss them with the usual "boys will be boys" excuse.

But just let 60-year-old white-haired guys like me attend and the old double-standard kicks right in. Oh, I can just see the stares and the disdain now. In this day and age we still have to fight the insidious degradation of ageism. I am calling on all other old-guys to join me by marching into these Lingerie Games with our heads held high, shoulders back, chins out. We may not be able to break the Toupee Ceiling, but by-golly we can crack it!
