Crystal Lake fire causes $295,000 in damage
A morning fire caused $295,000 in damages to a Crystal Lake home on Wednesday, Dec. 11.
Fire officials said no one was injured.
Rescue workers from the Crystal Lake Fire Department arrived at 4503 Laurie Lane five minutes after receiving a call at 9:33 a.m., said department reports. The fire started in the lower level of the single-family home and quickly spread.
Flames were under control by 11:45 a.m., and officials said a preliminary investigation revealed the fire was accidental.
Rescue workers from 13 other fire departments and fire protection districts assisted in the blaze. Officials said this is because the incident happened in the rural area where firefighters needed special equipment, called tenders, that carry water to the scene.
Assisting fire departments and fire protection districts were: Carpentersville, Cary, Huntley, McHenry, Algonquin, Wonder Lake, West Dundee, Fox River Grove, Lakewood, Woodstock, Wauconda, Lake Zurich and Marengo.
