$1.5 million bond set for Hanover Park slaying suspect
Bond for a 22-year-old Aurora man accused of murdering an ex-girlfriend was set at $1.5 million today.
Sergio Hernandez, of 559 High St., Aurora, remained jailed Saturday afternoon on charges of first degree murder.
Assistant State's Attorney Ruth Howes said Heranadez approached 26-year-old Rocio Munez-Ramos, of Elgin, around 8:11 p.m. Nov. 25, as she sat in her car the Park Place shopping center in the 1800 block of Irving Park Road.
As Munez-Ramos removed items from the passenger seat of her car to allow her boyfriend room to sit, Hernandez, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, shot her in the left side of the head and fled on foot, Howes said.
During police questioning, Howes said, Hernandez allegedly admitted to driving his truck to the parking lot, wearing a black hoodie and having a black semi-automatic revolver in his possession.
