Bolingbrook man charged with stabbing Naperville man

Naperville police arrested a Bolingbrook man in connection with a stabbing on the city's far south side Wednesday evening.

Police said they were called to the 1300 block of Keats Avenue about 5:40 p.m. and arrived to find 18-year-old Michael J. Fairbanks, of Naperville, who had been stabbed, according to a news release. Fairbanks, whose address was not released, reportedly was involved in a fight with 21-year-old Cortez Branch, of 1088 Bothwell Lane, when he was stabbed.

Fairbanks was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville for treatment.

Branch was charged with felony aggravated battery and felony armed violence. He remained in Will County Jail Thursday night with no bond, according to police.
