Bears sign receiver to practice squad

The Chicago Bears signed wide receiver Travis Brown to the practice squad today.

Brown entered the NFL in 2008 with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent from New Mexico. He was waived prior to the preseason by the Seahawks and claimed by the Cincinnati Bengals. Brown was waived by the Bengals in August after reaching an injury settlement.

In four seasons at New Mexico (2004-07), Brown had 182 receptions, third most in school history, and 2,196 receiving yards, fifth most. The two-time first-team All-Mountain West Conference selection had 14 touchdowns (12 receiving and two rushing) in 46 games (37 starts) for the Lobos.
