Field trip bus has mishap

No one was were hurt when a chartered bus carrying students on a field trip missed a turn at Route 14 in Crystal Lake, crossed one parking lot, struck a bush and then traveled through another parking lot Friday afternoon. The bus, chartered from Laidlaw Transportation, was carrying 39 second- and third-grade students and chaperones from Palatine's Quest Academy when the accident occurred about 2:15 p.m. According to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department, the students were on a field trip to a women's shelter in Crystal Lake. The matter is currently under investigation.
