Student attends D.C. forum

Hannah Brooks, a student at Thomas Middle School, Arlington Heights, traveled to Washington, D.C., in October, as part of the People to People World Leadership Forum.

• The Illinois School Nutrition Association appointed Marie Mack, food service manager at Rand School, Arlington Heights, to serve on its 2008-09 advisory board as secretary-treasurer.

• The following Barrington High School musicians have been selected for the District 7 Illinois Music Educators Association Honors Band, Choir and Orchestra: Band students: Hans Griese, Kevin Poglitsch, Jeanne Zeller and Max Zhang. Choir students: Mac Dassatti, Paul Digulio, Jeff Messman, Bret Patterson, Colin Smith, Jon Thierer, Megan Tischhauser, Mary Trimeloni and Lee Werner. Orchestra students: Karis Ailabouni, Roelle Eugenio, Ethan Fang, Kaitlin Leskovac, Claire Seizovic, Ted Tae and Zosh Zuo.

• Schaumburg resident Jeaneen Callahan Pociask was inducted into the Luther North High School, Chicago, Athletic Hall of Fame. Pociask attended Luther North from 1974-78 and played volleyball and basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse and Concordia University, River Forest. She coached volleyball for a year at Luther North and owns a Jazzercise franchise in the Northwest suburbs.

• The Bartlett Park District welcomed Laura Clark at its new aquatic manager. Her previous aquatic management experience includes the Hanover Park, Wheeling and Bensenville park districts. Joining Clark at the Bartlett Park District as assistant aquatic manager is Beth Martens. Martens previously held aquatic management positions with the YMCA, City of Elgin Parks and Recreation and the South Barrington Park District.
