The election of 2008 was one for the ages

The last time I voted in an election as generational and nation changing as this year's was in 1960.

Then as now, old prejudices needed to end and young, fresh ideas and energies would be brought to solve our country's many problems.

Whatever happened after 1960, and whatever may happen now, we are and will be a better country for it.

I am proud of my vote for John F. Kennedy in 1960. I never thought I would get another chance to vote in such a historic election.

I hope young voters will realize the pride they will have years from now because of their vote now. They will have participated in an American election for the ages.

They can tell their grandchildren, "I am proud that in 2008, I voted to elect Barack Obama."

God guide us all and God bless our wonderful country.
