DUI charges in Streamwood crash

A Streamwood man's blood alcohol level was more than six times the legal limit when he rear-ended a vehicle Friday afternoon, authorities said.

Ruben Prado-Reyes, of the 800 block of Schaumburg Road, was arrested at Route 59 and Schaumburg Road in Streamwood when the car he was driving hit another vehicle. He was charged with aggravated DUI.

Passengers in the vehicle hit by Prado-Reyes' car only suffered minor inquiries. Prado-Reyes was taken to the hospital because he could not stand and failed a breathalyzer test at the scene.

His blood alcohol level registered at .509 at the hospital, authorities said. The legal limit is .08. Judge Thomas Fecarotta set Prado-Reyes' bond at $50,000 Saturday morning. Prado-Reyes, of Streamwood, is due back in court on Dec. 3.
